BMW KINETIC SCULPTURE WINS THE ONE SHOW

At the One Show Design awards in New York Berlin agency ART+COM picked up best in show for the Kinetic Sculpture at the Munich BMW museum. The animated sculpture is composed of 714 metal spheres hanging from steel wires controlled by motors. It translates a virtual design process into the space around it. The installation starts in a chaotic state, then compete with each other forms until it is finally to a final object. This process is used in a variety of visualization variations, hinting at the design of BMW vehicles such as the 327, the 1500, the Z4, and the concept coupé Mille Miglia.
This is the second award in a week for the installation, adding to the gold Cube for environmental design, gallery/museum exhibit or installation awarded by the Art Directors Club in New York.
